§ 2-732. Penalties and interest on local government accounts receivable.

  • Any person failing to pay an account, fee or charge owed to the county, on or before its due date, other than taxes provided for by state law, shall incur a penalty of ten percent of the account balance or $10.00, whichever is greater. Unless otherwise provided for by law, interest at the rate of ten percent annually from the first day of the month following the delinquency shall also be collected upon the principal and penalty of all such accounts.
