§ 34-31.1. Registration required to operate any alarm system for law enforcement, medical or fire.

  • (a)

    Every owner or tenant of residential, commercial or industrial structures within the county, protected by an alarm system that is monitored off-site shall register with the county within 30 days of the effective date of this ordinance or of installation of any alarm system. All registration forms shall be available at the county and on the county website. Such registration form shall require the disclosure of all relevant information as determined by the county and may include additional conditions imposed by the county affecting use of the alarm system.

    (b)

    An alarm system registration cannot be transferred to another person or a different alarm site. An alarm system user shall inform the county of any change that alters any of the information listed on the alarm registration within ten business days of such change.

    (c)

    Registration must be renewed annually by submitting a renewal application to the county 30 days before expiration.

    (d)

    Any alarm system regulated by any applicable building or fire prevention codes shall be installed and maintained in accordance with such codes.
