Article II. LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE AND PERSONAL MEDICAL ALARM SYSTEMS |
§ 34-31.2. Duties of the alarm user.
(a)
All property owners or tenants of a structure with an alarm system shall:
(1)
Register the system in a timely fashion;
(2)
Maintain the alarm site and the alarm system in accordance with applicable codes and in a manner that will minimize or eliminate false alarms. "False alarm" means an alarm dispatch request when the responding county official finds no evidence of a criminal or civil incident creating an emergency.
(3)
Have a responder to the alarm system's location within 20 minutes when requested by the county in order to:
a.
Deactivate the alarm system;
b.
Provide access to the alarm site; and
c.
Secure the alarm site, if needed.
(4)
Use only ANSI/SIA CP-01 alarm control panels on all new law enforcement installations, replacements or upgrades.
(5)
With the exception of one- and two-family dwellings, have a fire alarm system equipped with a key lock box at an accessible location near the main entrance of the structure or at an alternative location approved by the county.
(b)
Automatic voice dialers are prohibited in the county.
