§ 63-12. Re-addressing appeals process.

  • The following process shall be used to appeal re-addressing decisions of the GIS coordinator or addressing committee, if applicable:

    (a)

    A written request to appeal the decision of the GIS coordinator shall be made in writing within 15 business days of notification of address change. The request shall be sent to the attention of the GIS coordinator.

    (b)

    The GIS coordinator shall forward the request to appeal to the addressing committee. The addressing committee is an internal review board comprised of county employees representing administration, public safety, planning, GIS, and real estate.

    (c)

    The committee shall review the request and make a determination on the appeal within 15 business days of receipt of request. The committee shall base its decision on effective provision of public services to the structure.

    (d)

    The committee shall notify the citizen of its decision on the appeal within 20 business days of receipt of request.

    (e)

    A written request to appeal the decision of the addressing committee shall be made in writing within 15 business days of notification of addressing committee decision. The request shall be sent to the attention of the GIS coordinator.

    (f)

    The GIS coordinator shall forward the request to appeal to the citizen addressing committee. The citizen addressing committee is a committee appointed by the county administrator comprised of the county administrator, two county employees that are not on the addressing committee, and two citizens.

    (g)

    The citizen addressing committee shall review the request and make a determination on the appeal within 15 business days of receipt of request. The committee shall base its decision on effective provision of public services to the structure.

    (h)

    The committee shall notify the citizen of its decision on the appeal within 20 business days of receipt of request.
