§ 74-2.1. Fee for returned checks and administrative fee for collecting accounts.
The treasurer shall collect a fee of $35.00 from anyone whose check for payment of any sum due to the county is returned for "insufficient funds." The treasurer shall collect a fee of $50.00 from anyone whose check for payment of any sum due to the county is returned for any other reason such as a closed account or because a stop payment order was placed on the check. The treasurer shall also impose an administrative fee of $35.00 for any additional steps taken to collect any unpaid bill such as placing a bank lien on an account or checking DMV records.
