§ 78-182. Report of driver of vehicle involved in accident; supplemental reports.

  • (a)

    The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to or death of any person or total property damage to an apparent extent of $1,000.00 or more shall, within five days after the accident, make a written report of it to the police department.

    (b)

    The sheriff may require any driver of a vehicle involved in any accident of which a report must be made to file a supplemental report whenever any report is insufficient in his opinion. He may also require witnesses of accidents to render reports to the police department.

    (c)

    A willful failure to file the report required by this section shall constitute a violation of this chapter.
