§ 82-203. Meter.

  • (a)

    An approved hydrant meter and integral gate valve shall be used by any person granted permission to use a fire hydrant. Approved backflow prevention/cross connection protection must be provided.

    (b)

    Where an underground leak is discovered, or a leak occurs in the building plumbing, and where the owner, agent, or tenant does not take action within five days to repair the leak, the director may cause to have the water service terminated until such time as written notification is given that the leak has been repaired.

    (c)

    The fire hydrant shall be opened, the meter installed and the water turned on by the department. All control of water flow shall be by the gate valve installed with the meter.
