§ 82-232. Reading meters.
(a)
In order to facilitate the rendering of bills for water consumed, the director shall cause each water meter installed on consumer service connections to be read and inspected each billing period, except that consumption may be estimated when access to the meter cannot be obtained.
(b)
It shall be the responsibility of the owner, user or tenant of the premises to keep the meter box free from debris, vegetation, animals or other obstacles to free access by the meter reader and to provide entrance to the premises by the meter reader upon presentation of proper credentials.
A request for adjustment of the water bill must be made by the customer within 15 business days after the bimonthly water bill has been rendered. Proof of repair of the underground leak must also be submitted at the same time.
