§ 82-469. Measurement of wastewater flows.

  • Billings for wastewater user charges shall be made on the basis of the measured quantities of water used by the premises or of the wastewater discharged. For residential units not connected to a metered public or private water system, a rate shall be charged in accordance with the schedule of charges using the equivalent service meter size and the average water consumption of the department's similar usage type customers. All commercial and industrial users, mobile home parks, and other significant users not connected to a public or private water system which meters water consumption may be required to install, at the user's expense, water and/or wastewater meters, acceptable to the director, to measure water consumption and/or wastewater discharge. Such meters shall be operated and maintained so as to maintain industry accepted standards of accuracy and shall be accessible at all reasonable times to department personnel for reading and testing.
