§ 90-862.3. Stacking spaces and drive-through facilities.

  • (a)

    Stacking spaces shall be provided for any use having a drive-through facility or having drop-off and pick-up areas. The following shall apply:

    (1)

    Stacking spaces shall not impede on and off-site movements, shall not cross or pass through offstreet parking areas and shall not create potentially unsafe conditions.

    (2)

    Drive-through lanes shall be separated from offstreet parking areas with individual lanes being marked or otherwise delineated.

    (3)

    Stacking spaces shall be a minimum of nine feet in width by 20 feet in length to accommodate box delivery trucks.

    (b)

    Stacking spaces shall be provided as follows:

    (1)

    Financial institutions shall provide five stacking spaces for the first drive-through window and two stacking spaces for each additional window or for each automatic teller machine (ATM).

    (2)

    Vehicle washes shall provide four stacking spaces per wash bay.

    (3)

    Restaurants shall provide six stacking spaces per drive-through window and shall be measured from the restaurant ordering station.

    (4)

    All other uses containing drive-through facilities shall provide a minimum of three stacking spaces for each window or machine.
